US OFFICIALS IN EGYPT WITH PLAN TO COUNTER TUNNELS

A Palestinian worked Thursday to repair a smuggling tunnel between Rafah, Gaza Strip, and Egypt. Hundreds of smugglers tried to repair dozens of tunnels damaged during Israel’s 22-day offensive. It is necessary to cover the face, not only for personal security, but also due to the dusty air in the tunnels as well as the sewage and filth Egypt often pours into them on their end. FOR SHAME!

Of course, my $.02 worth of snippits and slappits are in this darker green.

More shame upon America for continuing to aid in the persecution and the Israeli stranglehold upon the Palestinian people! It is CRIMINAL that NOTHING of promised building goods is being allowed into the country and now, in an effort to help themselves get the basics, money is spent to prevent the Palestinians from bringing in their own necessities. This is to say nothing of necessary medicines and other basic needs.

Egyptian security sources reported Tuesday that American military experts arrived at the Al Arish International Airport and headed, while heavily guarded, to the Rafah border terminal where they met senior Egyptian security officials.

Shame upon shame upon shame upon Mbarak's government for aiding the rogue state of Israel as it starves fellow Arabs with its illegal occupation. Mubarak is a weak "yes man" and traitor to his own race, possibly also because in his greed, he eyes the natural deposits off the shores of Gaza and wishes to keep his hand in that wealth stolen from the Palestinians.

The officials held a meeting with their Egyptian counterparts and presented a detailed plan that includes high-tech equipment to uncover tunnels. The equipment was donated by the United States as the country is sponsoring the installation of high-tech devices to stop the smuggling at the Gaza-Egypt border.

A Palestinian in Rafah carries a sack of smuggled tea pulled from a tunnel on Oct. 3. Estimates of the number of tunnels between Rafah and Egypt vary from a few hundred to 800, perhaps because their construction is presently a growth industry, with 98% of all other industrial operations shutting down since the blockade started. Tunnels are typically 0.5 km (0.3 miles) long and cost as much as $90,000 to dig. Owners typically rake in $10,000 daily. Smuggling constitutes approximately 90% of economic activity in Gaza, Gazan economist Omar Shaban told The Guardian.

The U.S. officials said that the congress-supported plan aims at securing the 13.5 border line between Egypt and Gaza. The congress approved allocating 50 Million USD to secure the borders between Egypt and Israel.

That is $50 Million AMERICAN TAXPAYERS' money going to continue in this genocidal atrocity. It is so amazing when one considers how well that money could be spent in America on the American people who could put it to very good use on just basic needs. This tells us where Obummer's true allegiance lies, and it is not with America. He salutes the blue and white flag. With the exception of only a few, every goddamn politician in America is bought and paid for by Israel and ready to obey its every wish, even at the cost of their integrity and own voting public.

A confused-looking bovine is lowered into an underground chamber in Rafah on Nov. 15. Recently, livestock smuggling has climbed as Muslims prepare for Eid al-Adha, in early December, during which animals are slaughtered in commemoration of Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son for God. In October, calves at one tunnel cost $600 each: $350 for the animal and $250 for the passage. Such smuggling is lucrative for smugglers and Hamas, which in October started collecting a $2,500 yearly license fee from tunnel owners.

They visited the border area and saw the tunnels that were uncovered and detonated by Egypt. The number of tunnels uncovered so far exceeded 300.

The officials also observed the ongoing installation of surveillance cameras and monitoring systems along the border, and thanked Egypt for its efforts to counter the tunnels on its border with Gaza.

A woman checks out televisions smuggled from Egypt on sale in Rafah Oct. 27. Although essentials such as food and gasoline are smuggled through tunnels, so are less essential goods such as cigarettes, lingerie, and laptop computers. Even most residents of Gaza’s zoo arrived via the subterranean passages known as hayyeh, including two lion cubs, a parrot who can ask for a kiss in Arabic, and three gazelles, one of which bit smugglers who forgot to drug it before the journey. It’s just a matter of time before an elephant can lumber in, the zoo’s manager joked to the Associated Press.

Israel claims that one of the reasons that “pushed” it to go to war with Gaza us the ongoing smuggling of arms and ammunition.

It is worth mentioning that Egypt installed high-tech surveillance cameras along the border line as an initial step towards installing the new systems.

This is the Israeli noose around Gaza. The tunnels are very important.

The equipment can detect underground tunnels, and also detects any underground movement even if it is far away.

THIS IS ANOTHER CASE OF ISRAEL BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS "PROBLEM" AND THEN BLAMING THE VICTIM FOR FINDING A CREATIVE SOLUTION. IF ISRAEL OPENED THE BORDERS TO LEGITIMATE GOODS AND ALLOWED THINGS IN AND OUT OF GAZA, THERE WOULD NOT BE THE NEED TO SMUGGLE!

IF GAZANS WERE ALLOWED FOOD, CLOTHING, GOODS, PETROL, ANIMALS, ETC ETC THERE WOULD BE LESS SUPPORT IN PALESTINE FOR THE TUNNELS AND HENCE LESS SMUGGLING OF ILLEGAL GOODS SUCH AS WEAPONS.

INSTEAD THE CLOSED BORDERS AND TOTAL BAN ON EVERYTHING, ESPECIALLY AFTER THE WANTON DESTRUCTION OF LAST WINTER'S GAZAN MASSACRE, THE NECESSITY OF THE TUNNELS AND SMUGGLING IS ALL THE GREATER!

AMERIKKKA WOULD STILL HAVE ITS $50 AND HAMAS WOULD NOT BE COLLECTING FEES FROM THE SMUGGLERS. ELEMENTARY LOGIC, BUT THERE IS NOT SO MUCH LOGIC AS THERE ARE BLIND HATE AND CUNNING CALLING THE SHOTS HERE ~ ON BOTH SIDES.

  1. Mubarak is one of three tyrants that ruled Egypt since the 1952 revolution. The first two are: Gamal Abdel Nasser (the biggest lie in the Egyptian history) and the second Anwar Al-Sadat.

Nasser's regime was defeated by Israel in 1967 (the six-day war) which resulted in loosing more lands to Israel (Sinai, Gaza, the West Bank, and the Syrian Golan heights). The Palestinians are still suffering the consequences untill today.

Sadat sold out the Palestinian in Camp David, and caused Egypt to be isolated from the rest of the Arab world.

As far as Mubarak is concerned, he is nothing but a slave; an agent to the American and his Israeli masters.

Egypt has never been a democratic country during the rein of those three clowns. Crimes have been and still are committed; killings and torture against those who would dare say anything against the regime. And the news papers are controlled.

Throughout history, Egypt has gone through lots of hard times. And as a way of survival, the Egyptians developed a very deep since of Humor. They Joke about everything including themselves.

One of the humors is related to a funny character in the Arabic culture; Joha, who is man who fits any kind of situation. He is the wisest, the most ignorant, the most stupid and the most intelligent; whatever the situation in the mind of the public is. One Joha's story reminds me with Mubarak:

    Begin...

A man came came running from the furthest side of the village and shouted, “Joha, Joha, fornication has become rampant” Joha answered him, “So what! As long as it is not in my side of the village, I don’t care”

A few days later the same man came running and shouted, “Joha, Joha, fornication is now spreading in your side of the village” Joha answered him, “So what! As long as it doesn’t occur in the block where I live, I don’t care”

Now, fornication invaded Joha’s block, but still he didn’t care as long as it hasn’t yet invaded his street. But a few days later, the same man came running and shouted, “Joha, Joha, you know…Now you have fornication in your street” Joha said, "I don't care as long as it is not in my house"

When fornication was practised in Joha's houjse, the same man informed Joha of the situation.

Do you know what Joha’s answer was?

Joha answered the man, “Well, still I do not care, as long as my asshole is saved”

That is exactly Mubarak’s attitude, and the attitude of so many other Arab leaders.

I Just wanted to bring a smile to your face.
